
Larry’s recipes are adaptations of recipes he observed from his mother, Sue Ponder, his grandmothers, Mildred Ponder and Hazel Brumitt, recreations of dishes he ate at church potlucks, and food he has encountered in restaurants, parties, and family gatherings. Through trial-and-error he has developed the flavors and combinations that are included in this cookbook. A few of these recipes are original creations but many are recipes he has gathered over the years, written on scraps of paper, and have become part of his repertoire

Crazy Cake
Ingredients:
3 c. Flour
2 t. Baking Soda
1 t. Sea Salt
2 c. Sugar
6 T. Cocoa Powder
2 c. Water
¾ c. Canola Oil
2 t. Vanilla
2 T. Vinegar
Directions:
- Combine all the dry ingredients in a rectangle cake pan: flour, soda, salt, sugar cocoa.
- Make three wells in the dry ingredients to hold the next three ingredients: oil, vanilla, and vinegar.
- Pour water over and stir with a fork.
- Bake at 350 until done.
- Serve warm with butter.
